Minutes approved with clarification that Bill’s vote totals are inaccurate on the Secretary of State website because some counties, including Marion, reported votes for “Write-In” instead of votes for “Bill Stant”.
The treasurer reported that Jeff Stant’s $20 membership renewal brought the balance to $240.52.
Election of new officers resulted in Kathleen and Marvin as Co-coordinators, with Kathleen serving as Chair and Marvin as Secretary. Maureen continues as Treasurer.
Kathleen moved to thank Kent for his year and a half of service as Chair.
New Business:
Discussion on whether to spend $80 having a table at Pride Fest. Kent moved that we not spend the money, Kathleen seconded and the vote carried.
Discussion of passing out fliers at the St. Patrick’s Day parade on March 16. Marvin, Maureen, Bethany, and Kathleen decided to play it by ear and see whether they would meet up and distribute lit closer to the day.
Maureen brought up the matter of the yearly website fee of $40 being due. Kathleen moved to pay it, was seconded and the vote passed.
From the monthly IGP conference call:
• Bethany and Kathleen announced a strategy meeting of the state party on Saturday, March 17, in Terre Haute, which they both plan to attend and to which all are invited.
• The IPC will have a table at the Indiana Peace and Justice conference at IUPUI April 13 & 14. Volunteers will be needed to person the table. Several members thought they could take shifts.
• Bethany mentioned that George Lakoff’s book, Thinking Points, was recommended.
Discussion of Keni’s donation for a guerilla campaign. It was decided to table the issue until next month after Kent has a chance to talk to Keni and after the IPC strategy meeting.
Kathleen mentioned that the next meeting of the Department of Metropolitan Development on Mar 21 at 1 pm in the City County Building will consider rezoning woods at Crown Hill Cemetery to allow development.
The meeting adjourned at 7:25 after which Kathleen signed forms registering her as the new Chair.
The next meeting is April 12, 6-8 p.m. at A Shade of Gray Bookstore at 1402 N. Pennsylvania St.
